The intake valve is a key component of the cylinder head. On the Kubota twin-cylinder diesel engine used in the Aixam and Minauto Ambition generation, its role is to open and hermetically close the air intake passage. Operated by the camshaft through the rocker arms, it opens to allow fresh filtered air into the cylinder for optimal diesel fuel combustion, then closes immediately to ensure complete engine sealing during the compression phase.
