The alternator is the heart of your vehicle’s electrical system. Driven by the Kubota twin-cylinder diesel engine via an accessory belt, its role is twofold. On the Ambition generation (Aixam City, Coupé, Crossline and Minauto), the charging system is particularly heavily used due to modern onboard electronics. Exposed to constant vibrations from the diesel engine, high temperatures under the hood, and humidity, the alternator (or its integrated voltage regulator) may eventually fail.
