The steps

Piecesanspermis.fr offers you several methods for replacing a variator belt:
    1. Start by removing the old belt by the simplest means, cutting it off with wire cutters if you don't want to retrieve it. If you don't want it back, you can release it like a bicycle chain by turning the gearbox variator clockwise. Then guide the new belt through the motor variator and over the top of the gearbox variator, turning the variator clockwise with insistence, and the belt will engage the pulley like a bicycle chain replacement. It is possible to turn the drive pulley using a large ratchet and the appropriate socket.
    2. The 2nd method involves removing the motor variator, known as the "drive pulley". To remove the motor variator, unscrew the 13 mm screw that secures the motor variator, then unscrew the 30 mm nut that secures the half-movable flange, then remove the bell, the complete weight carriers and the half-movable flange. ASPL advises you to tap the shaft end of the fixed endshield with a piece of wood and a sledgehammer.
  1. The fixed flange is held conically, so it will dislodge from its cone due to the impact of the sledgehammer on the shaft end. Then guide the belt through the gearbox variator and the fixed flange, and replace the fixed flange in its cone.
  2. Next, you'll need to reassemble the moving part of the variator, tightening it with the 30 mm nut and 13 mm screw.
