The shop number 1 for car parts without a license
Across all brands, stocks of immediately available electric models are at an all-time low. And for the most popular model of the moment, the Model 3, Tesla has announced a lead time of 7 months, after the order has been placed.
Diesel and petrol prices may have fallen a little thanks to a government boost, but with average prices of 1.86 euros and 1.76 euros per liter respectively, the French continue to be disappointed when it comes to refueling their cars. And more and more of them are thinking that maybe it's time to go electric. Especially those who drive more than 100 km a day and can recharge their own car at home, with a much more attractive fuel price. Last month, the provincial vehicle registration authorities distributed almost 20,000 registration cards to motorists who had chosen an electric vehicle model. An unprecedented level. And many of them have to wait months before they can own their new car, because at many dealerships, the number of electric vehicles in stock can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Fiat is the best. Despite the success of the electric 500 (almost half of the brand's registrations), its stock is still ahead of its competitors: they have 1,000 cars in stock for immediate delivery!
Far less, therefore, than the Model 3, the current star among electric car buyers in France. When financing his order on the site, the driver set his sights on the cheapest price (minimum 49,990 euros, all the same) Tesla was told it would be delivered next November.
The brands premium german brands, with their electric models, are lagging behind their American rivals in terms of registrations on the French market. Yet French dealers are not overloaded with inventory. 180 at Audi, nearly 140 at BMW, just over 50 at Mercedes. Only Porsche is worse off, with 18 Taycans available immediately.
Except that French franchises only sell around 50 units a month in total. If you choose a French car, it's best not to rely too much on the models in stock. For the whole of France, Peugeot has approximately 20 208s and less than a hundred 2008s. And at Renault dealerships, France's oldest electric car manufacturer, Zoé is barely available. If none of the 160 models in stock appeals to you, you'll have to wait until July to place your order today.
Even the Korean brands, although they say they have wisely managed shortages of various electronic components in recent months, are struggling to replenish their stocks. While two cousins, Kia and Hyundai, delivered almost 5,000 electric vehicles to their French customers in the first three months of the year, their number of immediately available models did not exceed 800.
As for dealers, they don't seem too worried about the situation. All those we contacted to see if they had any electric models in stock took our contact details, but never called us back or e-mailed us an offer.
No worries for us, our license-free cars such as the E-Aixam 100% electric or the famous Citroën AMI are available!
